I’m a Proud Baby Wearer!(and I don’t do it ’cause it’s “cool”)

Okay, I know it’s a bit obnoxious that this is my fourth post today, but I just came across this and HAD to post about it.

All you babywearing moms, give me your thoughts.

This is an ad that Motrin made:

If you are like me, your mouth just dropped open. There has been a ton of backlash for this video you can find them on YouTube and all across parenting forums and blogs if you google it. Motrin has sense pulled the ad, but I just cannot wrap my mind around why they felt the need to be so blatantly condescending towards babywearing mothers? Insinuating that we mothers do it because it is the new “it” trend is absurd and downright offensive. “I’m totally an official mom now.” What? That is just a little too flippant for my taste. Let me know what you all think!

  1. Oh my goodness, I don’t even know what to say! Apparently the fact that I wear my almost 13 month old make me crazy… or at least LOOK crazy! Someone should tell them that no matter how much my back might hurt (which it rarely does, because I know the proper way to wear him)I “cry” less when my baby his happy in the sling crying less. Duh! But at least I’m now an “official” mom.
