Fire Safety/Prevention Month Resources for Preschool/Early Elementary

While October is a great time for tons of fall themed schooling and activities, it is also Fire Safety/Prevention Month.  To integrate this theme in with our regular school days, I scoured the internet and found all sorts of fun things to use!  I thought I’d share my finds with you!

One of my favorite resources for free themed printables, Homeschool Creations has 20+ paged printable packs for preschool AND kindergarten as well as some made for lapbooks and also vocabulary cards.

2 Teaching Mommies put together a unit on People Who Keep Us Safe which includes information and activities about firefighters/fire trucks.

A list of resources including book suggestions and printables can be found at Apples 4 the Teacher.

Teachers Pay Teachers. has a free Fire Safety What Ifs digital download.  It is a free download, but you do have to have an account to get it.  Registration is free.

Here is a adorable fire themed tot pack from Our Little Monkeys that includes letter recognition, patterns, beginning word sounds and more.

Lawteedah has a printable unit which includes patterns, flashcards, and a lesson plan.

ABCTeach has both resources available for free and for members only including dot to dots, word scrambles, songs, signs, reading comprehension worksheets and more!

Make a cute handprint “5 Little Firefighters” craft by following the instructions at Tippytoe Crafts.

Confessions of a Homeschooler has a super simple science experiment for young children to go along with fire safety themes.

EHow provides easy instructions on how to make a children’s firefighter’s hat with red construction paper.

Kids want to put out their own fires?   Busy Bee Kids Crafts shows them how to make their very own fireman hose.

Shower of Roses shows us how to put together an informative and fun fire safety lapbook.

Sparky.org is full of nothing BUT fire safety and prevention information, activities, and games.

DLTK-Kids has fire safety themed coloring pages, crafts, and more.

The First Grade Sweet Life offers free printable fire safety themed asking and telling sentence sorts.

Royal Baloo has a PreK Fire Safety themed pack as well!

No Time for Flashcards also has several great firefighting themed activities such as write and count firetrucks and crafts.

Don’t forget to visit your library and see what the book offerings are and many local fire stations are willing to give tours/host field trips if you just give them a call!
