The ABCs of Scented Playdough—I is for Italian Herb Bread Scented Playdough{Bee Crafty Kids #35}

Welcome to the 35th Bee Crafty Kids link up here at To the Moon and Back!

After much thought and contemplation, I have decided that this will be the last Bee Crafty Kids link up.  The ABCs of Scented Playdough series will continue every Friday, but the link up will no longer be hosted here.  I will be making a few changes to the blog over the holidays and this is one of them.  Thank you to all who have participated and to my two co-hosts!

It’s time for the letter I in the ABCs of Scented Playdough series!

This week we made Italian Herb Bread Scented Playdough!

This is a savory smell that was still pleasant for the children.  A little something different from the typically sweet scents that we’ve been using.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning (or your own mix of basil, oregano, parsley)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oil

Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl.   Add all of the wet ingredients and mix well.   Transfer mixture to a saucepan and heat over medium heat stirring frequently.   When the dough clumps together nicely, remove from pan and allow to cool.

While still warm, but not hot, knead the dough.  If it is still a tad sticky, sprinkle a little more flour on until desired consistency.   Now you are ready to play and eat!

Now it’s time for YOU to share what you and your children have been crafting!

Feel free to grab a button so others can find us and also take a moment to check out what crafty fun is going on at my co-host’s sites: Melanie @Our Crafts ~N~ Things, and Selena @ Look! We’re Learning!
