It’s time for the letter Q in the ABCs of Scented Playdough series!
This week was HARD! Q is not an easy scent to choose! I finally, after lots of pondering, decided on quince scented playdough!
What is quince?
Quince is a fruit that is very similar to a pear. It is popular in the Mediterranean and Middle East parts of the world.
To make this fruity sweet smelling playdough, you will need:
- 1 2/3 cup flour
- 3/4 cup quince preserves
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp oil
- 5 drops red food coloring
- 5 drops yellow food coloring
Since you will be using preserves in this recipe, the dough will have chunks of fruity bits that add more texture. This also means that this dough will not last as long as other recipes that I’ve shared. I would discard it after a day or two.
This is a super easy recipe. Just mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it starts to form a dough. Remove from pan, allow to cool a little, and then knead it all together!
