Buck Denver and his friends are back to start teaching children all about the New Testament and the Gospel! Beginning with an introduction of the four apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and an overview of history that shares how Alexander the Great got the known world learning and speaking one language as well as how and why each apostle wrote his book in the Bible, this installment of the series delves into the Good News!
One of the things that I really appreciate about these movies is that while they are full of fun songs, colorful animations, and lovable puppets, it doesn’t dumb down the hard concepts in the Scripture. Children can learn and understand so much more than many grown ups believe they are capable of at young ages. After all, Scripture says:
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
Hiding God’s Word in the hearts of children is important, but so is helping them to understand it.
How can they fully appreciate the Good News if they don’t even know what’s so good about it?
Phil Vischer is here to help. This lively cast of characters will give your children a look into the beginning of the New Testament. Not only are they presented with biblical happenings, but historical references are also given to help make a well balanced picture of the time.
After teaching about the death of Christ, the reverence shown, even though its only by cartoons and puppets, is quite moving.
Again, I am impressed with the What’s in the Bible? series. More than just entertainment, these DVDs are excellent theological stepping stones for young hearts and minds. Impress upon your children the truth and depth of God’s Word.
