It’s time for the Story Corner blog hop! This month’s theme was “Animals.” I have the most fun book for little ones for this month’s activity!
“Muddle and Match: Jungle Animals” is an adorable board book for the younger set that features brief sentences full of fun alliteration about several animals. The thing that sets this book apart from so many others is that every page is divided into three sections and your child can then muddle up the animals to create NEW silly creatures, while also changing up the story!
There are three books in this series and they are all very loved by my children, even my olders. It’s just good, plain, silly fun and they love to make their own creations while reading.
After I spent some time reading through the book and switching out the sections making zany creatures, I decided to make a little printable animal game for my children so they could muddle and match some more!
I put together five pages of already muddled animals that children can cut apart and mix up some more! There are several combinations that can be made and I encourage you to also see what sort of new animal names your child can come up with to accompany his or her creations.
For best results, I recommend printing the animals on cardstock for more durability.
PLEASE NOTE: When you download the pack, there is a glitch so that every other page is blank. The pack is still whole, there are five usable pages as mentioned above. 🙂 You aren’t missing anything on the blank pages. Enjoy!
